One of the top real estate brokers in the Vail Valley, John has 33 years of experience selling Vail Valley Real Estate. Currently located in the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch Sales Office, John has been in the top 5 of all Slifer Agents (over 100 currently) for the last 8 years. In 2007, John was responsible for over $64,435,200 in residential real estate sales. As year round residents of Arrowhead, John and his wife Mary are avid skiers and love the Colorado lifestyle!

A Texas native and graduate of Texas Tech University, John moved to Colorado in 1970 and has lived in the Vail Valley since 1975. He was the Corporate Broker for Arrowhead at Vail Properties Corporation from 1987 until 1994, when Vail Associates purchased Arrowhead and created the Bachelor Gulch subdivision between Arrowhead and Beaver Creek. John was chosen as one of the two original Bachelor Gulch "lead brokers" and has been in the Bachelor Gulch sales office since December of 1994.

John has focused on Real Estate Development as well as sales, and was involved in developing several projects in the Valley including Riverbend in East Vail, the 37-acre Eaglebend Subdivision in Avon, the North Star Condominium project in Edwards, and the Brookside Lodge and Townhome development in Avon.

Over the years he’s been in the Vail Valley, John has been a long-term supporter of the arts and cultural activities in the Vail Valley and is active in fund raising efforts for The Huega Center, Habitat for Humanity, and the Vail Chapter of the Salvation Army. He also served on the Board of Directors of The Arrowhead Metropolitan District for eight years.

John has a fulltime real estate partner, Anna Menz. Originally from Australia, Anna has enjoyed the Vail Valley as her home for the last 26 years and has extensive experience in the in the hospitality industry, most recently as the Sales and Membership Director of the Bachelor Gulch and Beaver Creek Clubs and as the Concierge and Activities Coordinator to the exclusive Game Creek Club on Vail Mountain.
